What is the difference between pre-galvanized and hot dip galvanized steel pipe?
Pre-galvanized pipe is zinc-coated at the strip stage before forming, giving a thinner but smoother coating (Z40-Z275 g/m²). Hot dip galvanized pipe is dipped in molten zinc after forming, giving a thicker, more durable coating. For outdoor or high-corrosion environments, hot dip is recommended; for indoor and light structural use, pre-galvanized is more economical.
